NMJA members gain access to various certifications in the field of Bench Jewelry.

Basic Bench Jewelry

Can be achieved by taking Jewelry 1 and 2 at CNM


T
orch soldering, ring fabrication, jump ring fabrication, settings, bails, bezels, pick soldering.

Files and Finishing – file identification and use, sand papers/abrasives, buffing, tumbling.

Flex Shaft use – polishing, abrasives, bur identification and use

Basic Jewelry Casting

Can be achieved by taking Casting at CNM


Spruing, calculating, and weighing charge, investing and burnout programming, Spin Casting, Vacuum direct pouring in Vic 12 and J2R systems, mold making, and wax injection.

Wax Carving and Fabrication

Carving hard waxes, forming soft waxes, flex shaft wax burs, and hand tools.

Stone Setting

Bezel cups, snap prong settings, tube setting, Flush mounts, channel set, seat cut prong setting. Pears, Marquise, square, and cushion, princess, Custom setting fabrication.
